Sizzling Sriracha Salmon

There are many wonderful, delicious ways to prepare a fillet of salmon.

In this recipe, we will focus on EASY.  We want to use minimal ingredients, with efficient cooking methods.  Lets start with a list of what you will need:

  • 8 oz fillet of wild caught salmon (avoid farm raised if possible)
  • Sriracha sauce
  • 1 large carrot
  • 2 stalks of celery
  • a small white onion (or half a normal one)

The reason that we have chosen to show you a very simple, quick way to prepare your dinner, is to illustrate that cooking healthy can be easy.

Also, not only is this meal cheap and easy to prepare, but we will still satisfy our eating goals:

  •  Eating healthy (fresh, preservative, and chemical free)
  •  Eating to meet our dietary needs, and goals (low carb/ keto/ paleo etc)
  •  Eating enough to feel satisfied (nutrient dense, high impact fats & protein)

First thing we are going to do, is rub our 8 oz fillet of salmon with sriracha.  The amount of heat you can handle will determine how thick of a coat of sauce you apply.  With sriracha, and most bold flavors, remember that a little bit goes a long way.

You will dice up the above listed vegetables.

“Pan on” as Chef Gordon Ramsay would say!

Let’s now put our diced up celery, carrot, and onion into our pan.  The intense flavor comes out through heat, so cook dry at first. Give the veggies about 5 minutes in a dry pan. Once you see some color change, and more importantly, once you smell the veggies, it’s now time to add a pinch of salt & pepper, along with some olive oil. Cook another 4-5 minutes and then set aside.

Make sure pan is now on med-high heat, and lets place our fillet down. We want a nice sear, remember, this sauce will caramelize, and give off a beautiful color to or fish. Place the lid on, so as to build some steam, which keeps the fish moist, and intensifies the sriracha flavor on the salmon. After 5 minutes, turn over the fillet, and add all the veggies back in, right on top of fish, so as to blend all these flavors together.

Eating a low carbohydrate diet is tough, but it does work miracles for those wanting to achieve drastic weight loss.

I wouldn’t recommend to any person doing a permanent version of the “keto diet”, or “paleo diet”.

I would however advise you take from these cues, and make sure you eat this way in the evening.  I am all for whole grains in the morning, as they play a key role in human biochemistry, but there is no need for all this “energy” at night.
